Chika is a Japanese aromatherapist and is a Member of International Federation of
Professional Aromatherapist (MIFPA)
She graduated from the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy
(ITHMA) in London. and obtained a Diploma in Holistic Clinical Aromatherapy and
Therapeutic Massage in 2009.
She has worked at NPO (nonprofit organization) as a therapist, treating care workers
at home for elderly in Japan. Meanwhile, she has seen many clients who were suffering from cancers and mental illness.
Massage; the effect of touch clearly has a profound psychological and physical impact.
"Touch is a basic behavioural need, in much the same way as breathing is a basic physical need".
Aromatherapy massage has already been incorporated in some hospitals to relieve muscular tension, promote sleep, relieve pain, reduce high blood pressure, and for its comforting effect. There are benefits of using aromatherapy massage to reduce anxiety in children and psychiatric patients also.
